Questions people ask

How do I point my domain to my app?

You usually point a domain by creating an A record that contains your server IP address. If you use a platform like Vercel or Netlify, you might use a CNAME record instead. Log in to your registrar to update these values, then wait for the changes to propagate.

What is the difference between A and CNAME records?

An A record maps a domain name directly to a physical IP address. CNAME records point one domain name to another domain name, which is useful for aliasing. Use an A record for your root domain and CNAME records for subdomains or external services.

Why are my DNS changes not showing?

DNS changes take time to spread across the internet because servers cache old information. This process can take a few minutes or up to 48 hours depending on your TTL settings. You can check if the records have updated by using this lookup tool.

What does a CAA record do?

A Certificate Authority Authorisation record specifies which certificate authorities are allowed to issue SSL certificates for your domain. This improves security because it prevents unauthorised entities from misissuing certificates in your name. If you do not have one, any authority can issue a certificate for you.
