Questions people ask
Who owns this domain and when does it expire?
The lookup tool shows the registrar and the dates the domain was first registered and when it will lapse. While most personal details are now hidden for privacy, you can see which company manages the records.
What happens if my domain expires?
Your website and email usually stop working soon after the expiry date, because the registrar stops pointing the domain at your services. Most registrars give you a grace period to renew, often at a higher price, after which the domain can be released for anyone to buy. Turning on auto-renew is the simplest protection.
What is a transfer lock?
This security setting prevents unauthorised people from moving your domain to a different registrar. You must log in to your account and disable this lock before you can start a transfer to a new provider.
What is DNSSEC?
DNSSEC adds digital signatures to your DNS records so resolvers can detect forged answers. It helps make sure visitors reach your real site and not an impostor. Most DNS hosts can switch it on in a few clicks, with one record added at your registrar.
